Hi Guys. So sorry to hear about Reggie. I had a similar case with a puppy I purchased from pets4home and unfortunately the puppy had to be put to sleep 4 days later.

We collected her Tuesday 15th December and immediately with in 10 minutes she had diarrhoea. She was very very small and I was worried about her straight away. She had had a vet check the previous day from the breeders vet and she was noted to be underweight but was given the ok. When I took her to my vet the next day as an emergency she weighed 500grams. Vets were super worried and we have spent 4 days pumping her with meds and food but she didn’t pull through.

Breeder is saying she was 100% healthy even though my vets said she wasn’t and is refusing to give any money back or help with vet bills. We are absolutely devastated.

The 4th day when we took her back to the vet she was so bad they couldn’t even get a line in for an IV. We had no choice but to put her to sleep.

Breeder didn’t once check her weight for the 8 weeks and didn’t even ask her vet when on the report it said ‘underweight’. We had raised the concern of her being small but the breeder reassured us she was ‘thriving’.

We don’t know what the reason was for her being so ill but we couldn’t do tests and she was too weak to get any lines in but they suspect parvo.

Surely with it only being 4 days and her being ill from day 1 the breeder is liable?

We have communicated daily with the breeder with her deterioration and even on the day we had to put her to sleep but breeder is saying it’s nothing to do with her. She also has ignored our messages since. I have been in contact with the local council and trading standards but no reply yet.

These type of people need to be stopped.
